Born in Chattanooga on 11/25/51. Attended East Chattanooga Elementary; then Hardy Jr High from 1965 to 1967 and City High School from 1968 to 1970. U.S. Air Force from 1971 - 1975. Married in 1974 to Buathong, a Thai National, while stationed in Thailand. First daughter born in Michigan while still in the Air Force in 1975. Attended Macon Jr. College, CSTCC and Northwest Georgia Technical Institute. Graduated from McKenzie Business College in March 1983. Youngest daughter was born in 1983 in Chattanooga. Worked at Southern Cellulose from 1978 to 1998, then began working at UnumProvident in Chattanooga, TN from October 1998 to October 2004.
